Feeling Salty in Salt Lake City, Utah...

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my travel blog. My husband, Vel had to travel to SLC (Salt Lake City) for a work trip. I decided to come out at the end of his first week. He will be busy during the week, so the weekends are mostly when we will have time to spend together. Salt Lake City is and Utah in general is a beautiful state. There is plenty of green and lushness, with an array of colorful, red mountains closer to the boarder of Arizona. So, our focus will be seeing some areas we haven't seen before.

The Plane Ride: ✈️

SLC is only 1.5 hrs. plane ride from Phoenix, AZ. The plane ride was interesting as the clouds seemed to be so close, you could touch them. It was quite the ride in, seeing these beautiful clouds and mountains. Just take in these beautiful views. #fluffyclouds

Train to Salt Lake City to Ogden, Utah:

We took the 750 Frontrunner commuter train from Salt Lake to Ogden, Utah for a day trip. It took about 1 hr. and 15 min. The ride was pretty smooth, and we enjoyed the views from the train. #saltlakecityutah

Welcome to Ogden, Utah:

Welcome to Union Station in Ogden Utah...Such a beautiful city with lots to do. #ogdenutah

Day Trip to Ogden, Utah: Trains and Automobiles

Inside Union Station there are a few museums. The first we visited was the train display, next was the classic car collection. I will post the Browning gun collection next. #trains #automobiles #classiccarcollection #unionstationogden

I am not a gun expert, nor do we own one, but I can sure appreciate history of how they were made and who made them. In Ogden, Utah we visited The Browning Museum and saw a collection of guns created. I love to hear about the history of everything! #browningguncollection #unionstationogden #BrowningMuseum #ogdenutah #Utah

More pictures from downtown Ogden, Utah. I finally got to visit Waffle Love. they competed on Food Network's, The Great Food Truck Race. While in downtown Ogden we attended a food festival with plenty to do and see. FoodNetwork #ogdenutah The Great Food Truck Race #VelandSarahsutahvacay #velandsarahadventure

WE STOP FOR WATERFALLS!

On the way to our hike to the mountains, we passed a tranquil waterfall and some beautiful flowers So, we thought we would stop and smell the roses, so to speak.

WASATCH NATIONAL FOREST:

On our (4) mile hike (round trip) into twin Peaks Wilderness in the Wasatch National Forest, I encountered a snake 🐍that slithered right in front of my path. (No pics) The reason I didn't get a picture is because, I was too busy screaming and petrified with fear! 🫨

We also passed a few waterfalls along the way and was treated to incredible views of the mountains as well. The hike was difficult and completely uphill over boulders, dirt paths and rough terrain, but I did it!!! #WasatchNationalForest (Facebook video of waterfall) Facebook

What I love about Utah is the greenery and tons of pine trees driving through the mountains. Silver lake was so secluded and was beautiful. #silverlakeutah#silverlake

Drive through the mountains to another lake, Lake Blanche in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The views were incredible. We also passed a sunflower field! #sunflowersinutah#Utah#sunflowers (driving video Facebook)

Hanging out at the best Architectual mall there is, City Creek Center. Beautiful indoors and outdoors mall. Check out the beautiful fountain show! It was spectacular!!! (Video on Facebook)

We drove around Utah on a day trip seeing all the mountains and a wonderful waterfall while driving on the freeway. Bridal veil falls was pouring straight out the side of the mountains. if you are not looking for it, you will certainly miss it. But using the fast shutter speed on my camera phone, I was able to capture it.

Also, the beautiful mountains are everywhere. No matter where you look, they're in your view, even in your side view mirror. We kept laughing so hard trying to say, "Quick Quack Car Wash" fast, so I took a picture to remember that moment. bet you can't say, " Quick Quack Car Wash" fast 5 times... believe me the whole road trip we tried. 😆

Last pics of Salt Lake City, Utah. We went to visit the State Capital after Vel got off work. I love the architecture and design of these buildings; they are massive and stately. The inside of the building was closed, so no pics. But we got there just in time to catch the sunset. It was fabulous! The best part is when the lights came on and the top of the dome was glowing. #utahstatecapital #saltlakecityutah
