Aww... the time has come the infamy of June Gloom in Southern California. 🌧️ During the month of June, the weather is really unpredictable in Southern California and the weather changes in a heartbeat. It goes from a🥶chilly, foggy 🌁 and rainy mist 🌧️in the mornings to sunny 🌤️in the afternoons. But most days are followed by the gloom and doom of clouds and grey skies. You just don't know in June what you will get, so you enjoy getting out in the sun whenever you can.
So, on to our adventures for the month ofJune!
The apartment complex where we stay in Newport Coast, has beautiful landscaping. The flowers, trees, plants and pool area are surrounded by beauty. On this day, I took some fabulous shots 📸 of the area. For those that have been blessed with an eye for photography, sees beauty in ways other people don't. The stripes on a pillow, the inside of a flower or the colorful aspects of decor. Here are examples of beauty in my personal space of a tropical oasis by the ocean! 🌺🌹🏖️
We are blessed to have a gym in our community, and I was very pleased on this day, that my husband decided to come work out with me. Hopefully, this is the start to something wonderful for both of us!
Since I am recovering from a Tibia Fracture and a toe procedure, my husband, Vel wheeled me around outdoors in my wheelchair👩🏽🦽so I could enjoy the scenery. He knows how much I love the views from our place and the neighborhood. What a guy! 💖👩🏽🦽
Happy 57th Birthday to Me!!! 🎂 June 8th marks the day of my birth! I feel truly blessed to be able to celebrate another birthday. Hubby got me this wonderful singing birthday card and a cozy blanket for me to wrap up in, (because... I am always 🥶cold 🤷🏽♀️). What a thoughtful guy he is.
To celebrate my 57th birthday (June 8th), we ventured to a new park, Aliso & Wood Canyon Park, in Laguna Beach. I don't know how Vel found this place, but it was beautiful. The view from the top were spectacular. You can not only see all of Laguna, but parts of other cities as well. The ocean views were amazing as well. I always say to me hubby, if you're not looking for something new to explore, you are missing out! Well, I guess he heard me! He is starting to enjoy exploring with me! 💖🤩
Vel had a nice Father's Day. The weather was near 80*. Everybody was out enjoying the perfect weather. We got breakfast at IHOP and then spent the day walking around Balboa Beach Park. We had the best time watching this dog chasing the crest of the waves.
July: I SPENT THE DAY EXPLORING IN LONGBEACH BY MYSELF. FIRST STOP WAS TO THE JAPANESE GARDEN. IT IS SMALL, BUT BEAUTIFUL AND TRANQUIL. IT WAS A PEACEFUL DAY OF EXPLORING! NEXT STOP WAS TO THE MAIN ENTERTAINMENT AREA OF LONG BEACH. I HAD LUNCH AT BUBBA GUMP SHRIMP AND THEN I WAS OFF EXPLORING. I WALKED A LOT OF MILES THIS DAY! I SAW A VERY LARGE LIGHTHOUSE, BOATS IN THE MARINA AREA, THE QUEEN MARY, A CRUISE SHIP AND EVEN LARGER SHIPS. IT WAS AN AWESOME DAY! 💖
August HAS ARRIVED AND THE WEATHER IS SUNNY AND WARM IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (SOCAL). THIS MONTH'S ADVENTURES LANDS US GOING ON SOME WONDERFUL ROAD TRIPS ACROSS CALIFORNIA.
I AM THE QUEEN OF FINDING FREE ACTIVITIES AND FUND THINGS TO DO IN MY STATE. VEL IS ALWAYS SURPRISED BY MY GIFTS AS A TOUR GUIDE AND TRAVEL AGENT... SO TO SPEAK! WE VISITED McARTHER PLACE AT THE HUTTON CENTRE IN SANTA ANA. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL 1 MILE WALKING PATH SURROUNDED BY A MAN-MADE LAKE IN THE MIDDLE OF RESIDENTIAL CONDOS AND OFFICE BUILDINGS. THERE WERE DUCKS, TURTLES AND GEESE FROLICKING ABOUT!!!
Vel and I went to The Downtown Disney District in Disney, Anaheim, Ca. We had a fun day! Lego exhibits, fancy hotels, great food, entertainment and music filled the air as the pitter patter of feet enjoyed the day!
I went to Aliso Beach in Laguna and behold the waves were huge and there was moss on the rocks. Never seen it like that before. The waves were so big, the lifeguards stopped people from getting in the water! It was sure beautiful to look at though!
On my walk today, I took some pics 📸around the area. It is so green and lush in Newport Coast. On this day, the fog was hoovering in the horizon and mist filled the air. This is why the plants and trees thrive in this area! Well, that is it! Join us on our next adventures in California and beyond! Have a good week.
