It's time to tackle three of the New England states...Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.
Day 1... Before landing in Boston, It was pouring raining. There was limited visibility and a lot of turbulence on the plane...but after 20 minutes of circling, we finally landed. I made my way by taxi, and the driver was from Haiti. Since my niece is from Haiti...we had good conversations about the places we have lived. The driver...Living in Haiti were very humble means; me...living in Arizona was dealing with extreme heat and crazy dust storms, Lol...
The driver dropped me off at my hotel, The Marriott Custom House in the heart of downtown. I checked in and took in spectacular views of the downtown area, Boston harbor and Atlantic ocean from the 17th floor...breathtaking! I freshened up a bit and headed out to grocery store and then stopped at Black Rose Seafood and Steak House for a shrimp salad. The shrimp was so fresh and they were huge...the best part is it only cost me $5.95 :) .....my grocery's were expensive since I buy organic...but they were extra expensive, because it was Boston. Oh well....I was set for my 6 day stay in the city.
Day 2... Day 2...Today was all about Boston! I did an all day Boston In One Day Sightseeing Tour. There is so much history...it was very informative learning about the culture and history of the wars and all the soldiers that died fighting. We visited Beacon Hill, Cambridge (Harvard & MIT), Lexington, Concord, Rowes Wharf, the West End, Sea Port District, the North End and historic locations on Freedom Trail; including the USS Constitution. Another highlight was Faneuil Hall Marketplace (Quincy Market).
Day 3...Today we drove 1-1/2 hours to York, Kennebunkport and Walker Point Maine and then Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. It was another long day, but worth the drive. First stop, was to York, Maine to visit this quaint little town for shopping and take in the spectacular views of the The Cape Neddick lighthouse (Nubble). The weather was cooler, but the breeze was nice and I picked up some wonderful artwork and souvenirs at the little souvenir shop.
Next, it was on to Kennebunkport Maine for more shopping and a delicious fresh lobster dinner. The seafood is so much fresher in Maine than Arizona. Afterwords I topped it off with a slice of homemade blueberry pie! Afterwords, we headed to Walker Point, Maine to get a quick view of President George W. Bush's summer home and church. Our last stop of the day was to Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. It wasn't too busy, but we didn't have that much time to shop!
Day 4...Today was a day of rest after these long trips. I stayed at the Marriott Custom House Resort and enjoyed catching up on some Netflix movies and some of my favorite TV Shows. Later I headed out to get some beautiful pictures of the architecture and people playing in the park...It was an amazing relaxing day!
Day 5...My last full day in Boston, prompted me to to take a whale watching cruise where I we was treated to 5 Pilot whales making their present known..Afterwards I headed back to the hotel to wash clothes and got most of my packing done!
Day 6...My last day in Boston...I was originally going to stay 10 days, but I was having problems with cramping and hip pain so I had to cut my trip short. I will definitely be back to see the sites and other New England States I didn't get a chance to see (Martha's Vineyard, Cape Cod, Plymouth Rock, Rhode Island, Vermont and Connecticut). I enjoyed myself! :) I leave with the last views of Boston...
